WHAT IS PHYSIOTHERAPY ?
Physiotherapy is a health care profession that optimises human movement and function. All chartered physiotherapists have an extensive training in anatomy and physiology of the human body. This means that they have a good understanding of how the body works and what happens when things go wrong.
We can work with patients of all ages and physical abilities to improve the use of parts of the body that are affected by pain, injury and loss of movement.
A 'hands on' approach to treatment is used, applying techniques in joint and soft tissue mobilisation in conjunction with exercises to maximise the effect of the treatment. Exercises are reviewed and progressed as required.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE FIRST APPOINTMENT :
Appointments last approximately an hour. Your physiotherapist will assess and treat your condition. They will then discuss what they have found and how it will be best managed.
You will need to wear shorts and a T-shirt. You may be required to undress to your underwear particularly if we need to look at your back or neck as part of your assessment. (Females may prefer to wear a sports bra). We will endeavour to put you at ease throughout your treatment.
